INF VERB = the infinitive of the verb.  The verb SOMA to read has as infinitive HUSOMA.

VS = Root of the verb, in another word the stem of the verb reduced to its final vowel (A).   In HUSOMA, the root is SOM;   HULA (L); HUKAKA (KAK): HUNYAWA (NYAW), so the root is the verb without the last vowel.

VERB= means the infinitive form without the HU as in SOMA.
